Two Ways to Slow Down

Maria HenningBlogs

Looking to interrupt the way-too-fast speed your day is going?

To slow down we can use many different strategies; in this post, we want to show you two specific ways to achieve that goal.

Either way, there’s a nap at the end 😉

1. Dive Right In

The first method is to simply start relaxing muscle tension, breathing deeply, and slowing your thoughts down right away.

This might look like a class like Easy Pleasy – 40 minutes of simple yoga, designed to be safe, easy to follow, and take you straight from being in your head to feeling your body.

2. Come Up to Come Down

The second strategy to try is the “whatever goes up has to come down” method!

That means taking your physical practice beyond the most stressful thing in your day, essentially reaching for the peak of your performance for the day. Then, the key is fall right into a nap.

Our suggestion is a fun class: Feeling a Bit Jumpy – almost certainly guaranteed to be 10 of the hardest minutes of your day! The goal is to get your heart rate up, sharply focus you entirely on your body, and exert any excess energy. And of course, the invitation is to lie down for a long while afterwards!

So, which strategy will you try?
