For nearly 20 years, we’ve been developing a new style of practice and teaching based on a very simple commitment:
That you feel better when you walk out of the door than when you walked in.
Until now, there was virtually no public venue for the Yoga Better style. With a group of some of the most highly trained teachers in the city, we’re excited to finally offer a public space that challenges the expectation of what a yoga class is and can be, while staying fun and accessible.
From self-conscious absolute beginners, to seasoned pros, there’s a class for you.
“Why ‘Yoga Better’?”
I come back to the word ‘better’ more and more as the years go by.
Why do I practice? To get better.
How do I know if I’m good at life (yoga, handstanding, relationships, speaking, writing)?
I’m better than I was last year.
What’s my goal for my body? To be better than I was last year.
The more I move away from the simplification of good at/bad at a given discipline,
the better I find everything works. I’m not committed to anything short of you getting
better at every discipline we touch on in this course. Measurably better. Clearly better.
Better at practicing. Better at jokes. Better at communication.
I don’t teach a ‘better yoga’. I teach you to be better at yoga.
And with some permissiveness verbally, I want you to yoga better.
